An email popped into my inbox the other day and you could have knocked me down with a feather!! The Umbrella Tree had made it through to the finals of the Dorset Industry Awards in the Best New Business category.
We knew that we had been nominated, which was amazing, but never did we think for a moment that we would get through to the finals. To say we were flabbergasted was an understatement!
The challenges faced by new business are numerous and it takes resilience, a positive mindset and the ability to stay motivated to keep a business going in the first few years.
For any new business, the priority is growth and The Umbrella Tree has been growing steadily since the start. Times have often been hard, but the ups have far outweighed the downs and we are looking forward to the future.
We cannot wait until the 15th June to find out who has won and we wish our fellow finalists Luke Hayter Fitness and Oakes Insure the very best of luck. May the best business win!
